Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Test Laboratory was established by Prof. Dr. Ömer Usta in 2010 within the Department of Electrical Engineering of Istanbul Technical University in order to meet the EMC test needs of companies for R&D activities in addition to academic studies as a result of the importance given to university-industry cooperation.

Relevant electromagnetic compatibility tests of all kinds of electrical devices can be performed with the smart electronic devices produced for use in Electrical Energy Distribution Automation. Accreditation studies for the laboratory continue, but only the pre-tests required by the companies are currently being carried out.

It is also planned to add Low Voltage Directive (LVD) test devices to the laboratory. Thus, the EMC and LVD tests required for CE certification are planned to be carried out within the university.
